About Us

Hog Dat Nation is a competition BBQ team that raises money for families with children suffering from pediatric brain cancers. We are seeking donations to help families meet their unexpected needs and to assist Children’s Hospital New Orleans with a new residence facility for families in treatment. This fight is immensely personal as four of the team members have personally gone through this struggle with their children. As an IRS certified 501c3, donations made to Hog Dat Nation are fully deductible as allowed by law.

Hog Dat Nation is one of the founding teams of Hogs for the Cause. Hogs for the Cause is a BBQ competition/music festival that raises money for pediatric brain cancer outreach services. Teams compete in the annual competition named the "Ben Sarrat Jr. High on the Hog Cook-off" in memory of Hog Dat Nation co-captain Ben Sarrat’s son, who lost his fight with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma, or DIPG.
